Nikon Coolpix L18 sucks. am I screwed?
One year ago I bought a Nokia coolpix red 8.0 Megapixel Digital camera at Target. I always kept it in a case, never dropped. Out of the blue when I was going to take a picture of my step-daughter graduation it says "lens error". The lens is stuck out, and when I turn it on it makes a funny gearing sound and says the same "lens error". I called the warranty number and gave them the TAR#. The customer service lady says there is no TAR# in the system, and apparently I had to "register" it online after I bought the warranty. She says without a receipt I cant get it fixed. Am I S.O.L. on this one? Even though I got a lemon.
I bought the 3 Year Extended service plan. And kept that with the TAR # and has a bar code in the back. There saying I need the stinkin receipt as well.
DId you go to target and talk to them. Also there should have been a warranty card in the box of the camera. You need that card because all the info they require is on there. If you have a scanner scan that card and email it to Nikon's support and see what they say.
